If the eyes are the windows of the heart, then the body is the mirror of our feelings. If we are feeling great, we may give our body signals(信號). If we look at someone else’s body, we can often tell how they are feeling by their body signals. So reading body language signals is a great tool for daily communication.

Someone doesn’t think that learning how to read and use body language is important. In fact, 7% of the information we receive is from what people actually say and 38% of the information we receive is from the tone(語氣) and the speed of their voice, while 55% of the information we receive is from their body language.

Facial expression is one of the body languages. Scientists say that humans have 80 muscles(肌肉) on their faces. These muscles can make 7000 different facial expressions. They can be divided into six kinds: happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear? and disgust(厭惡).

For example, when people think a certain food tastes disgusting, they usually make a funny face. When people are surprised ,they often raise their eyebrows and open their eyes? wide.

If people can read body language correctly, they may be better at knowing other people’s feelings. However, be careful not to stare at others for a long time because it is not polite.

1.What is a great tool for daily communication????

2.Can we receive information form the speed of people’s voice?

3.How many kinds are there in the facial expressions?

4.How do people show their surprise through facial expression?

5.Why shouldn’t people stare at people for a long time?

?????? Is it possible to be born shy? Many scientists say yes. They say 15 to 20 percent of babies behave shyly. Interestingly, these shy babies usually have shy parents. 2.

?????? Family size might cause people to be shy as well. Some scientists found that children who had older brothers or? sisters were often bullied (欺侮) by their older brothers and sisters. So they became shy. At the same time, children with no brothers and sisters may also be shy.? 3. They are not able to learn the same social skills as children from big families.

?????? You may also be shy because of where you were born. When scientists studied shyness in different countries, they found surprising differences. In Japan, most people said they were shy. But in Israel, only one of three people said so. 4.One scientist says the Japanese and Israelis have different opinions of failure. In Japan, when people do not succeed, they blame ( 責備) themselves for their failure. In Israel, people often blame failure on outside reasons, such as family, teachers, friends, or bad luck.

?????? For shy people, it can be difficult to make friends, speak in class, and even get a good job. But scientists say it is possible for you to get over your shyness.?? 5.And don't forget—if you are shy, you are not the only one.

About thirty years ago, China was known as the “Bicycle Kingdom”. But the two-wheeled way of transportation became less and less popular later.

But these months you can see a revival(復興) of bikes across China. More and more people choose to ride bikes instead of driving to schools, workplaces or parks. Some start-up companies(新興公司) like Ofo and Mobike came up with the bike-sharing plans. They have brought the plans to people’s daily life and developed it to a new level.

Unlike other sharing plans around the world, China’s bicycles can be picked up and left anywhere. The bicycles are locked by the user after riding and then unlocked by the next rider by using a mobile APP and scanning(掃描)a QR code on the bike.

People can unlock the shared bikes by simply using their smartphones. The bikes have GPS and can be left anywhere in public for the next user. They’re popular among many Chinese people as they provide a good solution to the “last mile” problem, which means the final leg of a person’s journey.

China’s government praised Mobike and Ofo last month. They said that bike-sharing was a good way of cutting air pollution and traffic pressure.

1.China is always known as “Bicycle Kingdom”.

2.These months more and more people like to ride bikes to school or work instead of driving.

3.Just like other countries, China’s bikes can also be picked up and left anywhere.

4.The shared bikes are only popular among young people.

5.Shared bikes are helpful for solving the “last mile” problem.

Recently, Chongqing Three Gorges University has held an activity named “Cell Phone Ninja” (手機忍者). They would like their students not to use cell phones for 21 days. It is really a challenge (挑戰) for most students.

The activity started on April 12. Each student who volunteered to take part in this activity got a bracelet (手環). If the students did not use their cell phones, there would be a photo on the screen of the bracelet to show that. If they used their cell phones, a different photo would appear on the screen of the bracelet. After the last class of each day, the students sent the photos to the school’s public WeChat.

More than 800 students wished to take part in this test, and 400 were chosen. After seven days, only 103 students remained. The test was set for 21 days because some scientists believe that 21 days is long enough to help form (形成) a habit.

According to the teachers in the university, the activity was not a competition. It depended on students themselves to make the decision. The teachers hoped their students could form better study habits through activities like this one.

1.When did the activity “Cell Phone Ninja” start?

2.How many students were chosen to take part in this test?

3.Why was the test for 21 days?

4.What was the bracelet used for in this test?

5.What did the teachers hold this activity for?

Many people do not know what to do in face of a decision, big or small. Most decisions aren’t life-changers. But often, the decision isn’t between this or that; it’s between acting or not. If this challenges you, here are some tips.

Jog or ride a bike to nowhere. Just start moving in hopes of leaving the familiar. Walk down every street or path you can find until you lose your way. Then, see where you end up. Remember what it felt like to wonder where you were going? Try to lose yourself more often. It’ll make you better at making a decision.

Sit outside without any technology for an hour. Let yourself get bored. Can you hear the birds singing? The wind blowing? Yourself breathing? Try to do this once a week, then every other day, then every day. One of the reasons we find it hard to make better decisions is that we keep getting attracted to new things. A break from the noise will lead you to the decision you need to make.

Do something that scares you. People who have trouble making decisions fear mistakes. Tell someone you love them. Laugh out loud in a public place. Give a speech to a stranger. And when you do this, remember how you feel.When you’re sacred by a risky situation the next time, tell yourself that you did not lie. And try to trust the process in the future.

Some of these things may seem silly, but the more you do them, the more you’ll control yourself. It doesn’t matter where you’re going. Just go. Once you start moving, you can always change direction.

The art of making 1.

People often have to decide if they will act.

Going for a jog or a bike ride.

Start moving to leave the familiar and get 2. .

Do it more often and it will make you better at making a

Stay outside with ? 3. technology.

Do something outside to get yourself bored.

Be away from the noise for a while daily and you will make 4.decisions.

Do something that

scares you

Remember your5. when you do these scary things.

Trust the process in the future.

The more you do, the more in control you’ll feel.

Stop worrying about which way to go and just start moving.
